Mohammad Rudy Salahuddin was born in Jakarta on July 11, 1968. He pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Indonesia (1993). He then completed his Master of Engineering Management (MEM) at The George Washington University, Washington DC (1995). He pursued his doctoral education at the same university and earned a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree (2002).
He also participated in several leadership training programs, both domestically and internationally, including: Achieving Leadership Excellence Course at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) (2015); Training Course on FDI Innovation, Change Management and the Future of IPAs in London (2014); Second-Level Leadership Training at the National Academy of Public Administration (LAN) in Jakarta as the Second Best Graduate (2012); Designing e-Government for the Poor at the Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo (2005); and Telecommunication Policy Development Course at the Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity and Promotion, Seoul (2004).
Before serving as the Deputy for Digital Economic Coordination, Employment, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs since 2020, he held positions such as Deputy for Creative Economy Coordination, Entrepreneurship, and Competitiveness of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (2015-2020); Director of Infrastructure Planning at the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) (2014-2015); Director of Promotion Development at BKPM (2007-2010) and (2012-2014); Director of Services and Regional Planning at BKPM (2011-2012); Director of Exhibitions and Promotion Facilities at BKPM (2010-2011); Head of the Energy Development and Utilization Subdirectorate at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) (2006-2007); and Head of the Postal and Telematics Subdirectorate at Bappenas (2002-2006). Additionally, he has served as Commissioner in several companies, including PT. PLN (Persero); PT. SUCOFINDO (Persero); PT. Asuransi Tugu Pratama Indonesia, Tbk. and PT. PNM Venture Capital, as well as being a lecturer at several universities in Jakarta.
In addition to his duties as Deputy for Digital Economic Coordination, Employment, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, he also serves as a Member of the National Wage Council for the 2020-2023 term; Member of the National Tripartite Cooperation Institution for the period 2020-2023; Chair of the Implementation Team for the Pre-employment Card Program; and as a Supervisor of PERURI.
He was awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya X Year in 2007 and the Satyalancana Karya Satya XX Year in 2016 for his loyalty to the state and his competence in carrying out his duties as a Civil Servant (PNS).
